AstralThe thick wooden handle of the brush felt good in her hand.  Dark honey swirls covered its surface, the worn curve fitting into her palm like a well-known lover.  Overuse hollows, traces of memory, cupped her fingertips allowing her grip to tighten, her knuckles white in seconds.  Her brow furrowed as she began slashing at the erected canvas with heavy strokes, ribbons of blood red oil paint streaking out from the point of creation.  It dribbled down as rain is wont to do in the worst of storms, clearing away the snow from earlier.  Wrinkling her nose in frustration and distaste, Lottie sighed Astral

The Ivy Houses: Frances 1Once there were three houses.  Each was of a different style than all the others and in a different location, quite remote from other beings and distinctively far from these other houses. The only thing that they outwardly shared was that each was nearly covered end to end with ivy. It trailed from the rooftops down to the ground, creating piles and heavy, thick ladders that one might be able to climb if they were so inclined.  Beneath these leaves was a veritable utopia for small animals that did not want to be bothered by the sunlight. Remy's Tale: PrologueImagine for a moment that you are walking down a street.  It could be any street in the world, filled with people on their lunch break and lined with the usual assortment of shops.  You take a sip from the coffee you bought earlier, grimacing at the bitterness and wondering just what it is you're looking for and why can't you seem to find it.  Everything else is displayed in the windows, but something is missing.   
The shops will be closing soon, you realize.  Draining the last drop of glorious caffeine from the Styrofoam cup, you toss it in the nearest rubbish bin and stroll inside the shop you had paused in front of.    Remy's Tale: Prologue
